What is One Project Every Day? Simply, it’s a ton of potential; that's what it is.
I bought the domain name thinking I wanted a home base to post some projects that I wanted to get done, and I didn’t give it much thought at all. I typed oneprojecteveryday.com into Godaddy and bought it.
With my newly purchased domain name, I started thinking about what I was going to do. It was simple: one project every day.
Then I thought, damn. One. Project. Every Day?
Next I thought about what happens if I don’t do a daily project. Do I “fail.” What if I’m tired? What is actually going to be considered a project? What if a project takes more than one day?
One. Project. Every Day.
One.
One is a powerful number. Its power comes from the fact that it's more than zero. It’s obtainable. It’s not 7, it's not 12, it’s one. And it's doable.
Project.
What is a project? Well, here on this site, it's anything I need or want to tackle, with one caveat: It must not be related to work. It could be anything from painting a fence to changing the oil or organizing the closet. It can also be something super exciting like putting a new stereo in a vehicle. Who knows. I started making a list here of potential projects.
Daily projects are hard because they require planning, parts, and often, shipping. With the goal of documenting things, it's going to be even harder to do things and create content around them.
I really want to work on learning about projects, documenting projects, and planning projects, so a future project will be to learn and write an article about “what is a project.” (Hopefully, that will be a link soon.)
Every Day.
Now that I know it's Every Day, not Everyday. And how important that distinction is:
Every day means, that something needs to be accomplished every day. It won't always be Instagram-worthy, but I’ll try to document as much as possible, and the hope is to work and learn about projects that people are interested in.
